Tabitha chose some pouring and spooning activities from our practical life shelves (sorry for the terrible pictures, gloomy winter light and a continuously moving child is a combination I haven’t managed to crack yet).
On Thursday we enjoyed an afternoon out at Instow with my mum.
On Friday I had my first visit from my childminding development worker, which went really well (although I spent a lot of time blushing and wondering how to respond to her rather lavish praise!). Another parcel arrived from Tower High Learning, which fortunately kept the children busy as Aaron was full of beans and Tabitha was in a very clingy mood. Aaron immediately started building with the base 10 set (thanks Ali for showing us your beautiful set, I hadn’t come across wooden ones before).
These circle, square and triangle puzzles aren’t really for Tabitha, but she had fun with them anyway! I love the chunky handles on these, so much easier for tiny hands to grab hold of than normal peg puzzles.
She looked very thoughtful doing the three circles puzzle!
In the afternoon we went to the museum and had a look around. We were inspired by an exhibition of “metal masks” and are planning to make our own next week.
Here is Tabitha carrying the pouring work to the table again. It’s been a favourite this week!
Colin has been away in London at the Bett show. He arrived home late last night with a bag full of leaflets, freebies and some books for the children from his Nanny and Grandad. Apparently he travelled with two of my old lecturers from my Human Biosciences degree, who are keen to organise some activities for home educators! This morning we went out for a family walk to celebrate him being back home.
My parents are puppy-sitting for the weekend, so this afternoon we took the gorgeous Barley for a walk in the sunshine. When I was homeschooled we used to walk the dog along this beautiful stretch of river every day!
